Dec 11, 2023

Dubai — The Perfect Shot: Antarctica — a poignant documentary on the impacts of climate change — made waves during its premiere at COP28, capturing the attention of world leaders and delegates. The screening aligned closely with UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ urgent call to action, underscoring the film’s role in sparking global dialogue.
Produced by Canwell Media and directed by Quinn Halleck, the documentary follows the journey of acclaimed Ukrainian nature photographer Artem Shestakov, Founder of Faces of Impact. Known for his award-winning fine art and storytelling around the natural world, Shestakov’s transition into filmmaking amplifies his broader mission of connecting culture, sustainability, and global advocacy.
The film has already won over 22 international awards, including Best Documentary, Best Environmental Film, and Best Nature Film. This recognition underscores not only the film’s artistic strength but also its effectiveness in raising awareness on the climate crisis — echoing the work of Faces of Impact in highlighting changemakers shaping a more sustainable future.
Next Steps: A Global Series
Building on the success at COP28, producer Habib Paracha confirmed that a seven-part documentary series is in development. Each episode will focus on one continent, spotlighting the effects of climate change on ecosystems, communities, and food security.
“Pakistan will certainly be included,” Paracha noted, citing the devastating floods and the urgent need for resilient infrastructure.
A Global Stage
The film’s screening inside the Blue Zone — managed by the UNFCCC and reserved for accredited delegates — positioned it directly in the heart of negotiations and world climate action. This milestone was made possible with the support of Sustainable Impact Capital & Holding, along with executive producers Melissa Ganzi and David Runyon, whose contributions helped elevate the project to the international stage.
Linking Art, Advocacy, and Impact
For Shestakov, The Perfect Shot: Antarctica is more than a film — it is part of a larger vision he is carrying forward as Founder of Faces of Impact, a global platform amplifying leaders and innovators advancing sustainability and systemic change. The documentary exemplifies FOI’s mission: blending art, storytelling, and advocacy to inspire action at the highest levels.
As the project evolves into a seven-continent series, The Perfect Shot continues to embody the belief that art can be a catalyst for global transformation.
